Fall College Fashions

I was searching randomly for fall fashion photos when I ran across this old college fashion spread from Life Magazine. I love how all of the models look like real college students rather than fashiony models. My favorites are the velvet dress (probably for her sorority's formal, right?) and the girl balancing along the curb. Can I have her outfit from head to toe?!

So stylish! It's a shame college girls don't dress as pretty as this anymore. The last girl in the tartan dress is fab as well!

I really love old photos of college students. I think college is a time when people really come into their own in terms of style. I have some old yearbooks from my college and the clothing is also fantastic -- not to mention the confidence on these young women's faces! Thanks for sharing.

wow, these are great! I kind of wish college kids still dressed like this, versus the vulgarities I am forced to contend with on campus day to day.

Oh man, I WANT that velvet dress. It is just perfect. The girl balancing also has a really wonderful outfit. I too wish college students still dressed like this, rather than pajama pants and ugg boots and college sweatshirts. Yuck. I've always loved this old fashioned college style.

Oh and how cute is the girl with the coat over her head? She looks the most like a regular girl to me and I love it.

What lovely, honest photos. That woman in the velvet dress looks so sophisticated and glamorous. And their shoes...

it always shocks me how much better people dressed back then. It's sad how bad the general population looks these days.

great pics!

Some of your vintage obsessions are cute but some just make you look like a grandma.

I love the balancing girl, but that plaid coat is stunning. Wow. Great, now I'm going to be dreaming of perfectly drafted plaid coats when it's 100ยบ outside. *sigh*
